Payroll Frequently Asked Questions

What is INNERGY Payroll?

INNERGY Payroll is a full payroll engine built directly into INNERGY ERP, powered by Salsa Embedded Payroll. It turns the hours your team already tracks in INNERGY into direct-deposit paychecks, tax filings, and W-2s — without exporting to a separate system. It launched July 8, 2026

Who is INNERGY Payroll for?

Active INNERGY ERP customers operating in the US or Canada (all provinces except Quebec). The product is designed specifically for non-union commercial millwork and architectural woodwork shops.

Is INNERGY Payroll a standalone product or an add-on?

It is an add-on to INNERGY ERP — not a standalone product. You must be an active ERP customer to use it.

Is INNERGY Payroll available in Canada?

Yes, for all Canadian provinces except Quebec. Quebec payroll is targeted for a future phase of the roadmap.

Is INNERGY Payroll available to Microvellum-only customers?

No. INNERGY Payroll requires an active INNERGY ERP subscription. It is not available to customers using only Microvellum.

How much does INNERGY Payroll cost?

$50/month base platform fee + $6 per active employee per month. That is the full price — no year-end W-2 surcharges, no implementation fees, no off-cycle run fees.

  • 25-employee shop: $2,400/year
  • 38-employee shop (avg): $3,336/year
  • 50-employee shop: $4,200/year
  • 100-employee shop: $7,800/year
Are there any additional fees?

Pass-through fees apply for specific events: ACH returns ($125+ per return), voids or corrections ($60 per worker), amendments ($300 per form), and direct deposit reversals ($125 per worker). These are billed only when triggered.

How does pricing compare to ADP or QuickBooks Payroll?

For the average INNERGY ERP shop (~38 employees), INNERGY Payroll runs about $3,336/year — comparable to ADP RUN Essential before year-end surcharges and add-on fees push it higher, and comparable to QuickBooks Payroll Core before factoring in the QuickBooks subscription itself. INNERGY Payroll includes no hidden fees and no reconciliation overhead.

How long does it take to get set up?

Most shops complete self-onboarding and run their first payroll within two weeks. The process includes employer self-onboarding, employee self-onboarding via the worker portal, and Salsa-assisted historical data migration.

Do I have to re-enter my historical payroll data?

No. Historical payroll data migration is included and Salsa-assisted — your records carry over with support from the Salsa onboarding team.

How do employees access pay stubs and W-2s?

INNERGY Payroll includes a self-service worker portal where employees can access pay stubs, W-2s, 1099s, and tax forms directly — no IT involvement required.

How do I add INNERGY Payroll to my account?

Contact your INNERGY account rep or visit innergy.com/contact-us. Payroll is an add-on that activates on your existing ERP subscription.

How does time tracking connect to payroll?

Hours clocked in INNERGY — on the shop floor kiosk, via the mobile app, or entered manually — flow directly into payroll. There is no CSV export, no third-party connector, and no re-keying. The same time record that drives job costing and production reporting drives the paycheck.

Can I run shop floor and office employees on different pay structures?

Yes. INNERGY Payroll supports multiple pay groups, so hourly shop floor employees and salaried office staff can each have their own pay structure, overtime rules, and time-off policies — all managed in one platform.

Does INNERGY Payroll handle overtime and double-time?

Yes. Overtime and double-time rules are built in. The system applies the correct rate automatically based on hours tracked — no manual adjustments required.

What tax forms does INNERGY Payroll handle?

Tax calculations, W-2 filings, and 1099 form filings are all included. The system handles tax withholding and filing automatically for US and Canadian employees (excluding Quebec).

What benefits can I administer through INNERGY Payroll?

Benefits administration for medical, 401k, and similar plans is included at launch.

How many time-off types are supported?

Up to 3 time-off types are supported at launch, synced directly with the ERP. Support for more than 3 time-off types is on the future roadmap.

Does INNERGY Payroll support direct deposit?

Yes. Direct deposit is included at launch, along with printed-check support for shops that prefer or require it.

We're currently using ADP RUN. Why switch?

With ADP, you track hours in INNERGY and then manually push those hours into a separate system every pay period. INNERGY Payroll uses the same record for jobs, time, labor, and pay. There is no weekly export, no reconciliation, and flat predictable pricing with no year-end surcharges.

We're currently using QuickBooks Payroll. Why switch?

QuickBooks Payroll costs about the same as INNERGY Payroll at the base level — but you are also paying for QuickBooks as your GL, and you still reconcile labor hours back to jobs manually. INNERGY Payroll is the GL, the time tracker, and the payroll in one system.

Can ADP or QuickBooks integrate with INNERGY ERP?

Both may offer a connector, but those connectors involve manual CSV exports or third-party middleware — not a native shared record. INNERGY Payroll shares the same underlying data record as your ERP. That is a fundamentally different architecture.

Does INNERGY Payroll support certified payroll or prevailing-wage?

Not at launch. Certified payroll and prevailing-wage calculations are on the future roadmap. If your shop regularly bids public projects requiring certified payroll, speak with your INNERGY rep before making a decision.

Does INNERGY Payroll support union payroll?

Not at launch. Union payroll handling is on the future roadmap. INNERGY Payroll at launch is designed for non-union commercial millwork shops.
