INNERGY + Archetype: What This Means for You

What did INNERGY announce?

INNERGY has acquired Archetype, the world’s largest provider of shop drawing and drafting services dedicated to the woodworking industry. Archetype’s 220+ associates are now part of the INNERGY family, forming a single platform that covers ERP, design/engineering software, and drafting service capacity.

Who is Archetype?

Archetype is a drafting service. Their team produces production-ready shop drawings for cabinet shops, millwork manufacturers, and architectural woodworkers worldwide. Unlike a generalist outsourcing firm, every Archetype associate is focused exclusively on woodworking. They know the standards, the software, and the workflows your shop already uses.

Why does this matter to me?

If you have ever turned down a project because you could not get drawings out the door, paid overtime to get drawings finished, or watched your engineering team become the bottleneck on every job, Archetype is the answer. With this acquisition, you can scale your drafting capacity through the platform you already use, without hiring, training, or managing a new team.

What Changes (and What Doesn’t)

Will my INNERGY or Microvellum subscription change?

No. Your existing subscription, contract terms, and pricing remain exactly as they are. Nothing about your current relationship with INNERGY or Microvellum changes as a result of this acquisition.

Am I required to use Archetype?

No. Archetype is an option, not a requirement. You can continue using your in-house drafting team, your current outsourcing partner, or any combination that works for your business. Archetype is available to you when and if you want it.

Will my support team change?

No. INNERGY customers continue working with the INNERGY support team. Microvellum customers continue working with the Microvellum support team. Archetype customers continue working with the Archetype team. Existing relationships are preserved.

I use Cabinet Vision (or Mosaic, or another design tool). Can I still use Archetype?

Yes. Archetype is a service, not a software lock-in. The team can produce drawings regardless of which design package you use. Customers running INNERGY will get the deepest integration and the most transparent workflow, but the service itself is open to anyone.

How It Works

How do I request shop drawings from Archetype?

If you are an INNERGY customer, you will eventually be able to request drawings directly from inside the platform. Submit the project, track the work as it moves through production, see revisions in real time, and communicate with the drafting team in one place. We will share details on how to get started in the coming weeks.

How do I know what’s happening with my drawings?

Every drawing will have a real-time status that you can see from inside the ERP. Drawings in production, drawings in review, drawings delivered. Think of it like Amazon order tracking, but for shop drawings. Over time, we are working toward a model where you can see the drafter working on your file in real time and make annotations as the work happens.

Is this AI doing the drafting?

No. Drafting is done by Archetype’s team of woodworking-specialized associates. We are investing in AI tools that help the drafting team work faster and more accurately, but the work is produced and quality-checked by experienced woodworking professionals. As AI matures inside the service, customers benefit from the speed without compromising the quality.
